Jack joined DAG in 1997 and served as DAG’s President until 2023. His background in design-build and his passion for education projects have been essential to the firm’s growth. Jack enjoys designing educational spaces and places for students of all ages to come together to learn and stimulate their imaginations. He is a graduate of Troy University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management.
Jack is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Florida Educational Facilities Planning Association (FEFPA), and is a Founding Member of the Destin History and Fishing Museum. He is a registered architect in Alabama and Florida.
As Founding Principal of DAG Architects, Charlie is focused on a legacy of growth and talent development for the firm and service to his community. He started DAG in 1981 with partner Sam Blimling in Destin, Florida.
For over 40 years, Charlie has delivered excellent design while serving his community in many capacities. He was elected a Destin City Councilman and Florida State Senator. Charlie has grown DAG into Northwest Florida’s largest design firm, with projects across the country and Caribbean.
Charlie has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Auburn University. Prior to attending Auburn, he served in the US Navy as a Submariner. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Charlie was named an AIA Fellow in 2000.
