Not all buildings need a complete overhaul, when targeted, well-planned changes can elevate a space.
Originally built in 1983, One Seagrove Place is one of the only high-rise buildings on the historic scenic 30-A corridor in Northwest Florida. However, it’s dated front entry lacked signage visible from 30-A, and it’s exterior elevator lobbies were unconditioned, making traversing them with luggage challenging for visitors as they were left exposed to the elements.
DAG updated the character by modifying the porte cohere canopy to resemble a butterfly and reflect the character of the new entry roof shape. Inside the main lobby, we created a new registration desk and added seating and workspaces for visitors. The iconic cursive One Seagrove Place sign, previously on the porte cochere, was reimagined as an interior sign to preserve elements of the original building. The renovation received the 2025 AIA Florida Northwest Citation Award for Renovations/Additions.
