St. George’s University School of Medicine, located on the Caribbean island of Grenada, was a privately-held institution until recently.  The new board of directors hired DAG Architects to design their newest 240-bed dormitory, and were looking for an innovative design approach that would be cost-effective to build and maintain, while providing the necessary amenities for the students.

The design process was broken up into two phases, with the planning and programming phase first.  Because all previous campus buildings were constructed by a local design-build firm, the new board of directors was looking to completely re-evaluate their options.

Based on their successful 3 bedroom suite concepts, the new dorm will include additional features to enhance the student experience, such as collaborative spaces for relaxation and study.
